Hello everyone! Spellbinder's new collection, Stylish Ovals, is GORGEOUS! I am starting off with a pair of 'TWO FOR ONE' cards ... I just can't resist when the opportunity presents itself! These cards feature a really beautiful hot foil plate, Sylish Oval Floral Bird, and a new nesting die set, Essential Stylish Ovals. This set is huge with 16 dies!
Using the Stylish Oval Floral Bird Hot Foil Plate, white card stock was stamped with Aura Glimmer Hot Foil.
The images were Copic coloured. The bird and the leaves were coloured with BG11, 15 and 18. R27 and 89 were used to colour the flowers. When all the colouring was complete, the Copic colourless blender was used to remove any ink sitting on the foiled outlines.
The foiled panel and black foam were die cut with a die from Essential Stylish Ovals. They were adhered together and mounted on black card stock that was cut with the next largest die from this nesting set.
White card stock was embossed with Beautiful Butterflies 3 D Embossing Folder and adhered to an A2 sized, top-folding card base. The stacked foiled card front was adhered to the card and finished off with Aura Opalescent Sequins topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
The simple 'HELLO' sentiment from Outlined Sentiments was die cut from black card stock and adhered to the bottom of the oval.
The glimmer hot foil from the previous card was reused to create the negative design.
I began with a panel of Bristol Smooth Card Stock sized slightly larger than an A2 card. The panel was ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks Mowed Lawn, Broken China, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick.
Using a Solid Rectangle Foiling Plate on the Hot Foil System, the shiny side of the foil with the negative design was placed faced down on the rectanglular plate and the ink blended card stock was placed face down on top of the foil. Because of the large surface area being foiled, in addition to the foil plate and shim, I used a sheet of copy paper folded in half to increase the pressure when feeding it through the die cutter.
The card front was mounted on an A2 card base with an embossed panel and finished with Morning Dew topped sequins and a HELLO sentiment just like the previous card.
