Spellbinders’ Surprise Box and Santa Paws Sentiments

Hello everyone! Well the name of the Santa Paws Sentiments stamp set would suggest that I might have a critter popping out of the Surprise Box ... but no! The boxes have been filled with Christmas arrangements put together using the Holiday Blooms die set. Surprise! Santa Paws has a great variety of sentiments; some critter related and others general. A number of sentiments have been designed to fit on a side of the Surprise Box ... which is is how I have used them in this fun, Christmas card.

  • There are four dies in the Surprise Box set. The set was cut from black card stock three times.

  • The panel for the front of the box was stamped with Santa Paws Sentiments using Versamark Ink and embossed in gold. The sentiments were stamped on alternating sides on the boxes. With the sentiments in place, the boxes were ready to construct. These cute, dimensional boxes are easily put together.

  • A panel of white card stock size 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" what's embossed with Holly Flourish Embossing Folder . It was mounted on a black card base measuring 8 3/4" x 3 3/4".

  • The Holiday Blooms die set was used to die cut red, green, ivory and gold foil cardstock. Lots of die cutting for this card! Some of the elements are layered and jewel picker comes in handy putting these bits and pieces together.

  • The taller elements were arranged directly on the back of the inside of the box. To create some depth, a piece of double sided adhesive foam was placed inside the box. The backing paper was not removed on the top of the foam base as a precaution. I didn't want the front of the box to adhere to it! The remainder of the floral arrangement was adhered with liquid adhesive on top of the backing paper on the foam base.

  • Small flower with two leaves were arranged on the side of each box next to the side with the sentiment.

  • The card was embellished with clear confetti and finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
