Spellbinders’ Small Die of the Month for May

Hello friends! Spellbinder's Small Die of the Month, Tropical Friends, is a sweet and adorable die set. It has been used in conjunction with the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Scattered Tropics, for a luscious backdrop for these tropical cuties!

The May registration window for this club will be available May 6 for current Club Members. New registrations are accepted on the 10th of May. Registrations can be completed until May 27th or while supplies last.

  • White card stock was cut to 4 1/4” by 5 1/2” and cut with one of the dies from Essential Stylish Ovals.

  • The panel and oval were pieced together and placed in the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. The flat side of the folder was inked with Distress Oxide Ink Forest Moss and then embossed.

  • Distress Oxide Shabby Shutters was applied to the high points of the embossed leaves.

  • Black foam was cut with the next largest oval die. The oval cut on the panel was centred over the die cut on the foam and adhered. The background of the embossed oval was aligned and adhered to the panel recessing it.

  • The panel was adhered to an A2 sized, black card base.

  • The birds, flowers and foliage were cut using Small Die of the Month from coloured card stock and the birds assembled.

  • Green prills were adhered to the centres of the embossed flowers

  • After the birds were assembled, the leaves and flowers were arranged around the oval and picked up with Press ‘n Seal. Liquid adhesive was applied to the arrangement and the Press ‘n Seal was placed over the card front aligning the wreath with the oval die cut opening.

  • Green prills were adhered to the die cut flowers.

  • HI’ from Fresh Picked Sentiments was cut from both pink card stock and sheet foam and stacked. The sentiment was adhered to the bottom of the wreath.

  • Peach confetti was used to embellish the card front. Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew was applied to the confetti and the birds’ eyes.
