Spring crafting always feels like a breath of fresh air, and the Pansy Seed Co., Spellbinder’s Small Die of the Month, captures that feeling beautifully. Pansies are one of the first flowers that come to mind when I think of Spring, so I couldn’t resist building this cheerful card by combining elements from several of the April Spellbinder’s kits. The mix of texture, dimension, and soft florals makes this design feel both fresh and full.

Card Details
I began with an A2 card base and created my background using Truffle Colorwheel Cardstock, embossing it with the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month for added texture and depth. This rich, dimensional background sets the stage for the softer floral elements.
The Small Die of the Month includes a lovely scalloped border that is perfectly sized for an A2 card. I die cut this border twice from Fawn cardstock and adhered the pieces along the top and bottom edges of the card front to frame the design.

For the floral arrangement, I created a grouping of five pansies—one large and four small—using a combination of Violet, Plum, Lilac, Cosmic Sky, Beeswax, and Lavender cardstock. This set also includes a bell flower, which I used to create delicate bluebells with Windy and Cosmic Sky cardstock. The stems and leaves were cut from Fern cardstock.
The plant pot, cut from Windy cardstock, was partially assembled by adhering the rim and trim first. I then arranged the flowers and foliage inside the pot opening, securing them temporarily with a bit of tape to make placement easier. The plant marker was tucked into the arrangement before adhering the back piece of the pot to hold everything in place.
To add dimension, I mounted the completed pot onto a foam die cut and added foam squares behind some of the flowers and the plant marker. Once assembled, the arrangement was adhered to the card front using liquid adhesive.
The sentiment, from the Press & Foil of the Month, was letterpress printed in black ink onto Beeswax cardstock and cut with the coordinating die. I adhered it to the front of the plant pot for a clean, cohesive look.
To finish the card, I added yellow confetti sequins and Nuvo Crystal Drops (Morning Dew) for a soft, sparkling embellishment.

Closing Thoughts
I love how this card brings together multiple kit elements into one cohesive design. The combination of textured background, soft spring colors, and dimensional florals makes it feel both rustic and playful. It’s a wonderful reminder of how versatile these monthly kits can be when mixed and matched.
If you’re drawn to Spring florals, this set is definitely one to play with—there are so many possibilities for layering, colour combinations, and arrangements.
