Hello everyone! Stitched Ornament Display is a GORGEOUS die set and can be used in a couple of different ways. For today's cards, I am using just the ornament, one stitched, the other foiled. This set also comes with dies to create a hanging ornament in a 5" x 7" format. I will doing a separate post for this second version that will include a video tutorial. Until then .... today's cards were easily put together and I love the overlay detail on the ornament!
The ornaments were created first. There are four dies for the ornament; all of them were used for the teal ornament but only three for the pink one.
For the teal ornament, the stitched detail die was centred in the ornament outline die and held in place with a little bit of low tack tape as it went through the die cutter.
The stitching was completed with metallic teal and gold floss. The stitched detail die not only die cuts the holes for stitching but also debossed lines to overlay the stitches.
The ornament outline die was used to cut black sheet foam and the stitched ornament was adhered to it.
The die used to create the overlay detail was used to cut gold foil cardstock two times. The overlays are easily aligned to the ornament.
The die to create the hanger was also cut from gold foil and adhered to the top of the ornament.
The ornament was embellished with two gold foil holly leaves and teal berries. Gold confetti and teal opalescent sequins finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew complete this ornament.
Three dies were used to create the pink ornament. The ornament outline die was used to cut pink card stock that had been foiled in Aura Glimmer Hot Foil using the Plaid Tidings Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate.
The die for the overlay detail was used to cut two each of gold foil and pink card stock. The gold overlays were adhered to the ornament and the pink negative die cuts inlaid.
The gold foil hanger was adhered and the ornament was embellished with small gold crystals.
A pink poinsettia and gold foil greenery complete the ornament.
Black card front panels measuring 4" by 5 1/4" were embossed with Holly Flourish.
The card fronts were adhered to A2 sized card bases matted with either teal or pink card stock.
The cards were finished off with sentiments from Outlined Christmas Sentiments die set.
