Spellbinder’s Envelope of Wonder featuring Christmas Wonder

Hello friends! I have another card from the gorgeous Envelope of Wonder Collection. This card features Envelope of Wonder and Christmas Wonder. I love this entire collection so much but Christmas Wonder goes to the top of the list. We all have memories of past Christmases and, for me, there are particular things that will take me back in time. Gingerbread is definitely one of those triggers ... so many recollections of baking and decorating with my daughter and grandson as my husband simply looked on waiting for the right moment to sneak one! Then on to the cookie tree for all to admire! Happy memories!

  • The envelope from Envelope of Wonder consists of four dies and is easily constructed. The large background die cut can be left open, as in this card, or folded close. I used this large die to cut blue glitter card stock.

  • The pocket is made up of one of the larger triangular shaped dies and two of the smaller one. I cut these from plain turqoise card stock and embossed the die cuts with Scattered Christmas Embossing Folder. These die cuts have score lines that are folded. Adhesive was applied to the flaps and on the underside edge of the triangle on the larger die cut. I found it easiest to adhere the two side pieces followed by the bottom one. There is also a detail die cut for the edge of the flap that was also cut from turquoise card stock.

  • Now on to the fabulous Christmas Wonder decorations! I kept my colour palette simple, turqoiuse, a couple of shades blue, red, green, brown, white and a pop of gold here and there. To keep the design cohesive, colours were repeated.

  • Many of these sweet elements are layered. The etching on the main die cuts makes it easy to determine where the details are layered on.

  • The assembled envelope was adhered with double sided tape to a side folding, white 5" by 7" card base covered with navy card stock.

  • I began by decorating the inside of the envelope starting at the pocket and tucking those elements partly inside it. I worked toward the top of the flap. Some of the decorations were adhered directly to the envelope while those that were overlapping were mounted with foam adhesive squares.

  • A grouping of holly and poinsettias was added to the outside of the envelope along with a grouping of Christmas candy.

  • The banner sentiment from Make It Merry Sentiments was tucked in with one one of the poinsettias.

  • Nuvo Glitter Drps White blizzard was added to the berries on the holly.
