Spellbinder’s Clear Stamp & Die of the Month

Hello fellow card makers! I love the 1st of the month ... time to share Spellbinder's Clubs! I am starting off with the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month featuring a shaker card and a layered card. What better way to urge Spring on than with gorgeous butterflies! Maybe you are already feeling the warmth of the changing seasons but where I live, the landscape is still completely snow covered!

THE LAYERED CARD

  • A panel of black card stock was embossed with Stylized Trellis Embossing Folder and trimmed to 3 3/8" by 5 1/2".

  • A lacy border die was used to cut yellow card stock. When trimming the edge of border of this border, about 2 inches was left on to easily adhere it to the long, right hand side of the black embossed panel.

  • The panel was mounted on a black, top folding, A2 sized card base with black foam tape.

  • The Clear Stamp has two different floral butterflies. Each butterfly and the sentiment were stamped with Copic friendly black Memento ink on yellow card stock. The flowers were coloured with a couple of shades of orange and a yellow Copic markers.

  • The coordinating die was used to cut the butterflies and sentiment and sheet foam. The elements were stacked and adhered to the card.

  • The card was embellished with Bisque Opalescent Sequins finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.

THE SHAKER CARD

  • An A2 sized panel of yellow card stock was cut two times with the butterfly die.

  • The panel was embossed with Stylized Trellis Embossing Folder.

  • The two floral butterfly stamps were stamped on Vellum paper with Distress Oxide Inks Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn. The images were coated with clear embossing powder and heat set. The butterflies were cut as a square from the paper leaving about an inch of a border around the image.

  • The embossed butterflies were lined up on the back of die cuts on the panel and adhered.

  • Foam tape was placed around the perimeter and each of the butterflies.

  • The panel was placed face down, fitted into one corner, in a Misti Stamping Platform with the foam insert removed.

  • A mixture of yellow and green sequins was placed in each butterfly and the backing paper of the foam tape removed.

  • A panel of white card stock the same size as the yellow panel was first fitted into the same corner in the Misti and then lowered for a perfect fit!

  • The independent shaker was adhered to an A2 sized card base.

  • The sentiment was stamped with black Versafine ink on yellow card stock.

  • The coordinating die was used to cut the sentiment and sheet foam. It was stacked and adhered to the card.

  • The card was embellished with flowers and leaves cut with dies from the Small Die of the Month. The flowers were adhered with foam squares.

  • The card was embellished with Bisque Opalescent Sequins finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
