Two of my cards feature the Mountain Horizon Die—one a shaped card and the other a traditional landscape design. For the landscape version, the background was die cut from white cardstock. The sky was inked with Simon’s Violet and Heather inks, while the foreground was blended with Lilac and Morning. To make assembling the layered background effortless, the sky portion was also die cut from white sheet foam. Because the foam die-cut lifts out cleanly while keeping all the pieces in place, it was easy to adhere the inked cardstock die-cuts directly onto their matching foam counterparts, creating perfect dimension and alignment. The panel was spattered with opaque white paint using a fan brush to create the look of drifting snow. The foam-backed background was adhered to an A2 panel covered with lilac cardstock. To complete the scene, the Snuggle Snowman was dressed in a lilac scarf and matching hat trim. The sentiments were stamped using the EZ Strips Christmas Sentiments stamp—designed to stamp multiple sentiments in a single impression—and then die cut all at once with the EZ Strips Slanted Rectangles die. Both the snowman and the sentiment strips were popped up with foam squares for dimension.

For the second card, a shaped circular base was created by folding white cardstock in half and die cutting it with a circle die, allowing the top edge to sit just above the fold to form a hinge. The same die was used on white cardstock, which was then embossed with the Filigree Snowflakes embossing folder and adhered to the card front. The Mountain Horizon Die was used to cut lilac and deep purple cardstock for the sky and white along with two shades of grey for the landscape. Scotch tape was used on the back to hold the panel together before cutting it again with a circle die. This die and the next larger circle die were used to cut dark purple cardstock to create a striking frame for the background. A Snuggle Snowman—this time trimmed in deep purple—was added along with a sweet sentiment from the EZ Strips Christmas Sentiments set.

The next three cards feature the Snuggle Snowman on embossed backgrounds created with the Scandinavian Christmas, Wistful Leaves and Filigree Snowflakes embossing folders. Two of the cards highlight the newly released Classic Leaf Ring Die: one card uses two layers for a full, dimensional wreath, while the other features a glittery version for festive sparkle. The snowmen and sentiments were popped up with foam squares, and the wreaths were embellished with sequins and accented with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew.

The final card showcases the snowman framed within a gold-foiled ornament ring created with the Hanging Leaf Ring Die and decorated with die cuts from Christmas Foliage. The background panel was trimmed slightly shorter to leave space for the main sentiment and bordered with gold foil washi tape. The berries on the foliage were accented with confetti and topped with Morning Dew drops for glossy dimension.

FINAL THOUGHTS
DieCember is such a magical time for paper crafters—an entire month dedicated to the joy of die cutting and to the creativity that flourishes during the holiday season. Whether you’re building snowy scenes, layering wreaths, crafting shaped cards, or assembling adorable winter characters, the newly released dies offer endless inspiration. I hope these five cards spark ideas for your own holiday crafting and help you celebrate this special event in a meaningful and creative way. Wishing you all a joyful DieCember and a season filled with warmth, wonder, and handmade cheer.
