Gift Card Greeting with Spellbinder’s Small Die of the the Month for April

Updated: Jun 9, 2023

Hello, fellow card makers! Spellbinder's Small Die of the Month, Punch & Pierce Borders, is a gorgeous die set that can be configured in many ways. Love the versatility! For today's card, I have created a gatefold with a pocket inside to include a gift card ... perfect for a thank you! OR change up the sentiment to compliment the occasion! The April "New Subscriber" registration window will be available April 6 - 27th while supplies last

  • Light pink card stock sized 4 1/4" by 11" was first scored at 2 3/4" on one end, flipped to the other side and scored again on the other side.

  • Before folding the score lines, the arch outline and detail die long with one of the rectangular dies were lined along one of the score line. Low tack tape was used to hold them in place and this end of the panel was die cut. The dies were then lined up to the score line on the other end and die cut.

  • The score lines were creased creating the gatefold.

  • A panel of the light pink card stock was embossed with Hydrangea Blooms Embossing Folder and trimmed to 4 1/4" by slightly smaller than 5 1/2".

  • Using double side tape, a long piece of pink ribbon was adhered to the back of the embossed panel before it was adhered to the centre of the gate fold panel.

  • A small panel of the pink card stock measuring 4" by 1 3/4"was scored at 1/4" on the sides and on the bottom. This panel was also embossed with Hydrangea Blooms Embossing Folder and then the score lines creased. Double sided tape was placed on the folded flaps and the pocket was adhered to the inside of the card.

  • The ribbon was trimmed so the right hand side would extend over the centre where the gatefold meets. Using dots of liquid adhesive the ribbon was adhered to the front of the gatefold.

  • A heart of gold card stock and foam were die cut using a die from Essential Hearts. The heart was stacked and adhered to the end of the ribbon.

  • A small velcro pair of adhesive circles was pressed together and one side adhered to the ribbon on the the left hand side of the gatefold. The backing paper was removed from the other velcro circle and, pulling the heart taut, it was adhered to it. A simple floral arrangement from Four Petal Thank You was used to embellish the heart.

  • The sentiment words from Large Die Of the Month were cut cut from gold card stock and adhered to pink shadow die cuts. The words were adhered to opposite sides of the gatefold with an additional shadow die cut mounted on the under side of the panel.
