Hello everyone! All of the Spring themed cards have me longing for Winter to draw to a close! I definitely want to replace my woolen hat for a pretty umbrella ... just like the ones in these cards featuring Spellbinders' Raining Hearts and Umbrella Blooms. TheShowered with Love Collection collection by VICKI PAPAIOANNOU is fun and beautiful! I love these die sets!
Card stock measuring 4.25" by 5.5" was die cut with the cover plates in the Raining Hearts die set. This set comes with two cover plates; one with hearts and the other with raindrops! So awesome!
The panels were adhered to a coloured card stock panel of the same size and then onto an A2 sized card base.
The umbrella from Umbrella Blooms is large enough to be the star of the show on a card. This die set comes with different inserts for the umbrella top to customize the design. For these cards, I used the horizontal stripes for one and the segments for the other.
In addition to the insert dies, which can be used or not, the umbrella is put together with four main dies; the umbrella top, the underside, handle, and the handle details.
The umbrella is easily constructed. Adhere the handle to the underside of the umbrella top so the end piece of the handle extends completely from it. Attach the umbrella top to the underside. I used small, low profile foam squares cut in half. Add the details to the handle.
Adhere the umbrella to the card nestling it in the raindrops or hearts.
The Umbrella Blooms die set is accompanied with several flowers and leaves. I created a floral arrangement to sit in the middle of the umbrella handle.
There are two sentiment sets with Raining Hearts that include both a shadow die and the script. I used the 'hello' for both cards. The shadow die was used to also cut foam so the sentiment could be stacked.
The cards were completed by adding Nuvo Drops to the centre of flowers and as accents.
