The Berry Best Stamp & Die was designed by Simon Hurley … pure happiness in stamp and die form, making it perfect for cheerful encouragement cards, thank-yous, or just-because notes. With bold strawberries, playful sentiments, and plenty of opportunity for texture, this card came together as a fresh, bright design that feels both fun and polished.

Card Details

The card begins with an A2 card base layered with Rainforest Colorwheel Cardstock to create a bold foundation. A panel of Blush cardstock, embossed using January’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. Best Sentiments, was trimmed to 4 inches wide and adhered to the right-hand side of the card front. To separate the two panels and add a subtle touch of shine, a gold glitter washi tape border was placed between the green base layer and the embossed Blush panel.

The Berry Best Stamp set includes both outline images and solid stamps for the strawberries and leaves. I found it easiest to stamp the outline images first, allowing for good alignment when adding the solid stamps. The outlines were stamped in black ink, while the solid images were stamped using Distress Oxide inks—Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple for the strawberries, and Mowed Lawn for the leaves. To create depth and variation, additional ink was applied around the edges before stamping again.

To turn the strawberries into chocolate-dipped treats, the coordinating dies were used to cut the lower portion of each strawberry from dark brown cardstock, which was then adhered to the stamped images. The “chocolate” was finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew, adding a glossy, realistic shine.

The leaf dies were also used to cut black sheet foam, allowing the leaves to be stacked and popped up for dimension. The leaves were arranged vertically along the left-hand border, with the strawberries staggered on top for a layered, cascading effect.

The sentiment was stamped onto Blush cardstock, trimmed down, and mounted onto a slightly larger piece of gold glitter cardstock for a polished finish. Around the sentiment, the small flowers and hearts included in the stamp set were stamped for extra detail. Pink confetti was scattered around the sentiment area and topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew, while green confetti was added around the leaves and finished the same way to tie the design together.

Closing Thoughts

This sweet, strawberry-themed card is a perfect example of how stamps, dies, and texture can come together to create a playful yet polished design. The combination of bold colour, soft embossing, and glossy details adds depth without overwhelming the layout, while the chocolate-dipped strawberries bring a fun, whimsical twist. Don’t be afraid to mix finishes—matte cardstock, glitter accents, and dimension brings all work together to give the card visual interest. Whether you’re creating a single card or working assembly-line style, this design is easy to adapt with different colours and sentiments, making it a great go-to for happy mail any time of year. 🍓💖
