Hello friends! Spellbinders’ Summer Solstice Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn is absolutely gorgeous! It consists of five flower die sets, a 3-D embossing folder and a BetterPress sentiment set. My cards feature Cosmos, Echinacea and Anemone. The backgrounds for two of the cards have been created with two new products from another collection; Scallop & Stitched Edge Ovals and Script Text BetterPress Plate. Lots of amazing new products to check out!

All of the florals for these cards were cut from Colorwheel Cardstock. Most of them were given additional depth and dimension by adding in Distress Oxide Inks or Pawsitively Saturated Inks using detailed blending brushes. This is a quick and easy way to colour your flowers. The flowers were shaped using Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. All of the sentiments are from the Woodland Tales Sentiments die set

Cosmos do not have black centres but I like the drama and so black stamens it is!
A panel of Bellini cardstock was cut with a circle die and adhered to a block panel. The gold inset frame was cut using 2 consecutive circle dies taped together to cut foil cardstock.
The flowers were cut from three different colours of cardstock and inked with Pawsitively Saturated Inks. Starting at the base of each petal fading out to the tip, ink was applied; Chiffon cardstock with Grapefruit ink, Bellini cardstock with Carnation ink & Beeswax cardstock with Grapefruit ink.
The leaves were cut from Peridot and inked with Field.
The flowers were shaped using the medium ball tool on the back of each petal in a circular motion. The flowers were assembled and adhered along the edge of the circle die cut opening on the card base. Several leaves were tucked in underneath the petals.
The card was finished off with matte gold die cut words and matte gold half pearls.

The background for this card was created with Script Text BetterPress Plate. Press plates hot foil beautifully … which is what I chose to do with this background foiling Indigo cardstock.
The panel was cut with two consecutive rectangular dies creating a frame and a smaller rectangle panel. These were adhered to a gold foil panel and then mounted on an A2 sized card base.
The flowers were cut from coloured cardstock and Distress Oxide Ink applied to the base of each petal fading out to the tip; Chiffon cardstock with Picked Raspberry, Beeswax cardstock with Ripe Persimmon ink & Blush cardstock with Picked Raspberry ink.
The flowers were shaped using tweezers. The tweezers were placed in the centre of each pedal and the two sides pinched together upwards. Easy! After the two petal layers were adhered together, the centres were finished off with prills. I combined Ribbit (green) with Gourd Jus (yellow mix).
The flowers were adhered to the card and the leaves tucked underneath the petals. The card was finished off with the gold die cut sentiment mounted on foam.

To create the background for this card, a panel of Mulberry cardstock measuring 4“ x 5 1/4“ was adhered to a black, A2 sized card base.
The largest scalloped oval and stitched oval from the new Scallop & Stitched Edge Ovals die set were cut from black cardstock. The stitched oval dye was also used to cut black sheet foam. These panels were adhered to the centre of the card base.
Two flowers were cut from three colours of card stock; Violet, Indigo and Mulberry. The flowers were shaped with the medium ball tool at the base of the petal and tweezers were used to curl over the petal edges.
The flowers were adhered to the foam backed oval and clear crystals mimicking dewdrops were used to embellish the flowers.
