Card Details
To create the background, I began with the Press & Foil of the Month. A panel of Colorwheel Cardstock Rainforest was randomly ink blended with Distress Oxide Ink in Forest Moss to add subtle depth and variation. Using the BetterPress System, I inked the coordinating plate with the same Forest Moss Distress Oxide Ink and pressed the design onto the panel for a beautifully textured background.
To finish the panel, I splattered it with Splatter White paint using a fan brush to create the look of softly falling snow before adhering it to an A2 card base.

The deer was die cut from Colorwheel Cardstock using a combination of Truffle and Acorn for the head and antlers. The sweater and Christmas lights were cut from Peridot and Rainforest, while the present was created with Chiffon and Blush cardstock. The cup and nose were die cut from Pomegranate, adding the perfect festive pops of colour.
The sweater and scarf were stitched with embroidery floss that closely matched each cardstock colour. The stitching is straightforward and comes together quickly, while adding beautiful texture that really elevates the finished design.
Once assembled, the moose was adhered to the card front with foam tape for added dimension. To complete the card, I chose one of the three sentiments included with the Press & Foil of the Month. The sentiment was BetterPressed with Forest Moss ink onto Rainforest cardstock, die cut with the coordinating die, and stacked with a second die cut from black sheet foam for extra depth before being adhered beneath the moose. The lights were finished off with Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard for a touch of sparkle.

Closing Thoughts
This month’s Stitching Die of the Month is an absolute delight to create. The stitching is enjoyable without being overly complicated, and the finished deer has so much personality with his festive sweater and twinkling Christmas lights. Paired with the coordinating Press & Foil of the Month, this design creates a cozy Christmas card full of texture, dimension, and handmade charm that is sure to brighten someone’s holiday season.
