Card Details
A panel of Rainforest ColorWheel cardstock was embossed with the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. The leafy texture complements the stitched tree design beautifully and adds subtle interest to the background. This panel was adhered to an A2-sized card base.
One of the dies from the Essential Stylish Ovals Die Set was used to cut Cloudy cardstock, which was centred on the card front to create a soft focal area.
The tree was die cut from Fawn cardstock and lightly inked around the edges with Distress Oxide in Walnut Stain to add depth. To give the tree dimension, the same die was used to cut black sheet foam, allowing the tree to be popped up when adhered to the oval. The leaves were cut from Rainforest cardstock and attached directly to the branches.
For the blossoms, flowers were die cut from Blush and Bellini cardstock using both the base and stitched dies included in the set. All stitching was completed with cream embroidery floss. To secure the stitched layers, Tombow adhesive was applied to the base die cuts and allowed to dry until tacky before attaching the stitched pieces—this neatly sandwiches and secures the threads on the back. Flower centres, cut from cream cardstock, were adhered before mounting the blooms onto the tree.

The stitched sentiment included in the set was cut from Cloudy cardstock and backed with white sheet foam for dimension. The coordinating cloud die was used to cut two clouds from vellum. Since vellum doesn’t love liquid adhesive, Tombow was applied to the foam and cardstock sentiment layers and left to become tacky. The vellum clouds were then sandwiched between the layers, allowing them to float above the card front while keeping adhesive hidden.
To finish the card, Pink Opalescent sequins and Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops were added for a touch of soft sparkle.
Closing Thoughts
This project is a lovely reminder of how beautiful stitched details can be when paired with gentle colour and dimension. From the textured background to the floating vellum clouds and hand-stitched blossoms, every element adds to the light, springtime feel. It’s a peaceful, rewarding card to create—and one that truly celebrates the joy of slow, thoughtful crafting.
