Spellbinders Small Die of the Month , Better Together, is an adorable die set includes two different kinds of critters—owls and otters—so of course I had to create two cards! This is a super fun die set to work with!

Both of these cards were such a joy to create and really highlight how versatile this month’s die set is. Whether you’re crafting for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or simply making something sweet for someone special, the Better Together collection offers endless possibilities for heartfelt, whimsical designs.

For the owl card, the owls were die cut from Colorwheel Cardstock in Classic White, Anchor, Chiffon and Coral with small touches of matte gold cardstock. They’re simple to assemble, and the girl owl is finished with the sweetest little floral wreath. The background is created from Chiffon cardstock embossed with the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Unlock My Heart. I adhered two branches across the panel and perched the owls on each one, then added tiny floral accents to complete the scene. The sentiment, taken from the Stitching Die of the Month , is also cut from Chiffon cardstock and stacked with foam for subtle dimension—I love the tone-on-tone effect.

The second card features the otters…my favourite! These cuties are assembled from Truffle and black cardstock, dressed in darling Blush and Mint onesies. I added small floral accents in Chiffon and matte gold to tie them in with the first card. The background is super fun and full of movement: I used the dies from Underwater Tunnel to cut navy, light blue and white vellum. Since vellum doesn’t react well with liquid adhesive, I mixed glue dots and foam squares to build the layers. Starting with the otters, I adhered them to the smallest layer with glue dots, then worked downward—foam to attach the light blue, more foam to attach the navy, and finally glue dots to mount the whole pond scene to a white A2 card base. Little pink hearts are popped up with foam on top of the light blue layer, with another foam square tucked under the blue vellum to support the outer edges. Just like the owl card, the “love you” sentiment is mounted on foam for dimension.
