Spellbinders’ Shadow Joy from the City Holiday Collection

Hello friends! Christmas is the time for sparkle and shine! And I have gone all out on this sweet set of Christmas cards featuring Spellbinders’ Shadow Joy from the City Holiday Collection! These cards also feature new introductions Linen 3D Embossing Folder
Shadow Joy is a gorgeous die set! The large script word is perfectly sized for an A2 card. It is made of of three dies. The base die has etched lines to align the script to leaving areas that the shadow die cuts fit into like a puzzle … an easy puzzle! This set is also accompanied by star accents.
For the most part, these cards are tone on tone. All of the cards have black A2 card bases that were covered with metallic cardstock panels that were embossed with the Linen 3D Embossing Folder. Gold Treasured Cardstock were used of the cards; glitter on one hand matte for the other. The third card was done up with fun, purple glitter cardstock.
A frame was created for each of the cards, using two dies from the Bow & Bell Scallop Frame. The eyes were held together with low tap tape and used to die cut metallic card stock and black sheet foam. The frames were stacked and adhered to the cart fronts.
The base die from Shadow Joy was used to cut black cardstock and black sheet foam. They were stacked and the foam trimmed off the back where the word would overlap the frame. The script die was used to cut Colorwheel Cardstock Black, Indigo and Lavender. The script was aligned to the etched lines on the base die cut. The shadow die was used to cut metallic cardstock coordinating with the background. These pieces were easily fitted into the remaining open areas on the base die cut.
The card was assembled by first adhering a secondary sentiment from the Christmas Cheer Sentiments Press Plate Die Set. The sentiment was letter pressed and cut with the coordinating die. This die was also used to cut foam to stack the sentiment. The large JOY sentiment was adhered above it along with the foam backed accent stars. The cards were finished off with a Snowflake Mini 3D Wax Seal created with the Wax Seal Starter Kit
