Spellbinders February Press & Foil of the Month set, Ink To Petal, is such a standout …. blending graphic design with soft stencilled florals in a really unexpected way. The combination of a pressed outline in conjunction with the stenciled images gives the tulips incredible depth, while still keeping a clean, modern feel. And honestly—tulips never disappoint.

Supply List
The design began by BetterPressing the tulip image onto Colorwheel Lavender cardstock using Distress Oxide Ink in Seedless Preserves. One of the highlights of this set is the included registration template, which makes aligning the pressed image and stencil layers effortless. Everything fits neatly together without guesswork.

Next, the layered stencil set was used to add colour beneath the pressed image. Distress Oxide inks—Peel Paint, Shabby Shutters, Milled Lavender, and Seedless Preserves—were blended through the stencils to build up the leaves and tulip petals. To add extra dimension and softness, white pigment ink was lightly applied to highlight the tops of some petals and leaves, giving the florals a subtle glow.
Once complete, the panel was die cut using a Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals die. The same die was also used to create the shaped card base by cutting white cardstock folded in half, positioning the die slightly over the crease to form a hinge.
The sentiment, included in the set, was pressed onto lavender cardstock with Seedless Preserves ink, then die cut along with a matching piece of black sheet foam for stacking. This added just enough lift while keeping the card sleek and balanced.

To finish the card, Purple Opalescent Sequins were scattered across the panel and topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew for a soft, glossy sparkle.
Closing Thoughts
This card really showcases how innovative this Press & Foil set is—from the clever stencil placement to the bold yet delicate tulip design. The mix of crisp pressed lines, blended colour, and shaped card base makes it feel special without being complicated. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate spring, and a reminder of just how powerful ink, pressure, and a few thoughtful details can be when they work together.
