Card Details
Both cards began with the six-piece Petal Burst Stencil Set, inking Distress Oxide inks over white cardstock to build up those soft, dimensional florals.

For the birthday card, I used a warm, sunny palette. The inks were applied in stencil order: Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, and finally Vintage Photo for the centres. The finished panel was adhered to an A2 card base. A strip of Beeswax Colorwheel Cardstock (4 1/4” x 1 1/2”) anchors the bottom, with a slim Acorn strip separating the patterned and solid sections. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is a layered two-piece die—Tuscan for the shadow and Beeswax stacked with black foam for the script—adding both contrast and dimension.

For the thinking of you card, I leaned into soft pinks and richer reds. The stencil layers were inked with Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, and Festive Berries, with Squeezed Lemonade for the centers. The Dahlia Colorwheel Cardstock panel was cut using a die from the Playful Stitched Panels set, then embossed with the Favourite Song 3D Embossing Folder for added texture. It was backed with white foam and adhered to the top portion of the card front. Hello Friend sentiment follows the same layered approach as the previous card: Dahlia for the shadow, Blush for the script, and foam for lift.
Closing Thoughts
These cards are a great reminder that stencils can do most of the heavy lifting—especially when paired with well-chosen colour palettes and dimensional sentiments. Whether you go bold and sunny or soft and romantic, the Petal Burst stencil set offers endless versatility. Quick to make, easy to customize, and full of impact—definitely a combination worth reaching for again.
