Spellbinders Mugs & Kisses: Warm Winter Hugs

The Spellbinders Mugs & Kisses Collection is filled with the sweetest winter designs, and the Mug Friends die set makes it so easy to create adorable little mugs with plenty of personality. For this card, I’ve created two cosy mugs of hot chocolate, each with its own fun winter character and embellishments. Together, they make the perfect pair for a sweet seasonal greeting!

Card Details

I started by creating two mug designs—one from Mint Colorwheel Cardstock and the other from Cranberry Colorwheel Cardstock.

For the mint mug, I added the adorable penguin, die cut from black cardstock, with a coral beak and a cranberry scarf. The cranberry mug was decorated with a delicate white snowflake. Both mugs were filled with hot chocolate by adding an oval Truffle die cut to the inside.

To finish the drinks, the penguin mug received a generous dollop of whipped cream, while the second mug was topped with an adorable marshmallow snowman and a candy cane. Such a cute combination!

For the background, I covered an A2-size card base with an Indigo panel that had been splattered with Splatter White for a snowy effect.

I then used the sweet sentiment and candy cane pole from theNorth Pole Sentiments die set, cutting the pieces from Cranberry and White cardstock. The sign was positioned in the centre of the card, with additional snowflakes from the Mug Friends die set scattered across the panel.

Finally, the two mugs were added with foam squares, with one slightly overlapping the other to create a little dimension and give the mugs the feeling of being tucked together for a cosy winter moment.

Closing Thoughts

I think these little mugs are absolutely adorable! From the penguin and his tiny scarf to the marshmallow snowman and candy cane, there are so many fun details to discover. This card would be perfect for sending a warm winter hello—or simply sharing a little mugs and kisses with someone special!
