For music lovers, a handmade card featuring the Majestic Guitar Die Set is the perfect way to strike a chord on their special day. I have a 5” x 7” card that combines soft tones, elegant gold accents, and dimensional details for a design that feels both personal and celebratory. For the second card using Majestic Guitar Box Side Panels, the guitar shaped card has been transformed into a sweet gift box/card combination!

1. Create the Card Base

  • Cut a 5” x 7” card base from cream cardstock.

  • On the left side, emboss a strip of Chiffon cardstock using the Linen 3D Embossing Folder for rich woven texture. Adhere it flush to the card base and border it with gold washi tape.

2. Assemble the Guitar

  • Die cut the guitar body from Chiffon cardstock.

  • Add detail layers (frets, strings, sound hole, and floral overlay) in matte gold cardstock.

  • The floral overlay is from Yana’s Daisies.

  • Mount the guitar body on foam adhesive to give it height and dimension before adhering it slightly right of center.

3. Add the Floral Arrangement

  • Die cut flowers and foliage in cream and Chiffon cardstock with matte gold accents for centers.

  • Cluster the flowers around the top left edge of the guitar body, tucking in leaves for balance.

4. Add Musical Notes & Embellishments

  • Scatter matte gold die-cut music notes from Musical Notes & Stave Pop-Up around the sentiment and guitar.

  • Accent with gold confetti, finishing them with a drop of Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew for a domed, glossy look.

5. Stamp the Sentiment

  • From the Family Musical Mix Greetings stamp:

“To my beautiful Sister, Happy Birthday” in crisp black ink.

  • Place the sentiment to the upper right of the guitar, balancing the card design.

How to Make the Guitar Box

  1. Die Cut the Guitar Body

Start by die-cutting two guitars using the Majestic Guitar from Oceanside cardstock. These will form the front and back of the box. The sentiment was embossed on the front panel of the guitar before assembly. Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink was applied around the edges.

  1. Create the Box Walls

Using the Majestic Guitar Box Side Panels, cut four strips. These will be used to create the walls of the box.

  • Tip: To adjust the depth of your box, simply cut and join additional wall strips, adhering the end tabs together.

  • Once assembled, glue the bottom tabs to the edges of one guitar die cut to form the base.

  1. Assemble

Attach the second guitar die cut to the top tabs, carefully aligning the shape. This creates a seamless, 3D guitar-shaped box. I cut a guitar shaped card panel to adhere to the back by using the outline die to cut folded cardstock. The die was positioned over the fold to create a hinge.
