Spellbinders Clear Stamp & Die of the Month. Good Times, is packed with uplifting, sporty sentiments that are perfect to use on their own or for creating custom backgrounds. I wanted something energetic and graphic to pair with the sneakers, so I turned the sentiments into a bold embossed backdrop.

Card Details
Background Panel
I started with an A2-sized panel of white cardstock and ink blended Distress Oxide inks in Speckled Egg, Blueprint Sketch, and Chipped Sapphire, blending carefully where the colours met to create a seamless transition. The panel was set aside to dry completely before stamping.
Using my stamping platform, I arranged several sentiments from the Good Times set in a horizontal grouping that covered roughly one-third of the panel. I stamped them with VersaMark ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder, and melted everything smooth with my heat tool.
Leaving the stamps in place on the platform made it easy to reposition the panel and repeat the process two more times. This created a continuous, all-over sentiment pattern with crisp white embossing against that rich blue blend.
The finished panel was adhered to an A2 card base.

Focal Point – Classic Kicks
The adorable sneakers from the Large Die of the Month, Classic Kicks, steal the show here. I die cut the pieces twice using a combination of Colour Wheel cardstock in Tuscan, Celestial, and Indigo.
Once assembled, the sneakers really pops against the embossed background. I adhered the sneakers with foam squares to add dimension and movement — almost like they’re mid-jump.
For the finishing touch, I stamped an additional sentiment in black ink onto Tuscan cardstock and used the coordinating strip die to cut it out. This was also mounted on foam and tucked beneath the sneakers.

Closing Thoughts
I absolutely love how the bold ink blending and crisp white embossing create such strong contrast for those bright, playful sneakers. This design would be perfect for birthdays, encouragement, Father’s Day, or just a “you’ve got this” moment.
Sometimes all it takes is a pair of classic kicks and a few powerful words to make someone feel like a hero.
