Spellbinders Christmas Blush Collection: A Whimsical Nod to Christmas Past
Frank Garcia’s Christmas Blush collection is an incredibly beautiful and whimsical nod to Christmas past. I love all of the Victorian-inspired details and the way the collection combines nostalgic charm with a soft, modern colour palette. For these three cards, I’m working with Sweet Snowman, Bundled Up Winter Bear and the Sparkling Trees 3D Embossing Folder.

Colorwheel Cardstock - Chiffon, Blush, Rainforest, Acorn, Black, White
For all three cards, I kept the design consistent, using a palette of soft pink, white, and black. The repetition of the colours and background design creates a cohesive set, while the different focal points give each card its own personality.
Card Details
I began by creating a shaped card base using the Perfect Touch Arches die set. I positioned the top of the die just over the fold of a piece of white cardstock, allowing the fold to remain intact and creating a hinged card base.
Next, I die cut another arch from Chiffon Colorwheel Cardstock and embossed the panel using the Sparkling Trees 3D Embossing Folder. The embossed panel was then adhered to the white card base.
For the focal area, I selected a smaller arch from the Perfect Touch Arches set and die cut it from both black cardstock and black sheet foam. I adhered the two pieces together and centred the dimensional black arch onto the card front.
For the cards featuring Sweet Snowman and Bundled Up Winter Bear, I’ve included an assembly guide to help with putting together all of their sweet layering details.
The snowman was die cut from Chiffon, white, and black Colorwheel Cardstock, with a touch of Rainforest and Acorn for his branch-like arms. The adorable winter bear was assembled using Blush, Chiffon, white, and black cardstock.
The sentiments for both cards come from the Merry Greetings die set. I cut the sentiments from Chiffon cardstock and adhered them along the bottom of the black arches, positioning the snowman and bear above them.
For the final card, I featured the beautiful Christmas tree from the Sparkling Trees 3D Embossing Folder that comes with a die. I die cut the tree from Chiffon cardstock and black sheet foam. To add even more dimension and detail, I positioned the die-cut tree inside the Sparkling Trees 3D Embossing Folder, carefully aligning the tree outline with the full tree in the centre of the folder. Once embossed, the pink tree was adhered to the black foam die cut and then mounted onto the black arch.
The sentiment, also from the Merry Greetings die set, was cut from Chiffon cardstock. The coordinating shadow die was used to cut black cardstock, creating a bold layer behind the sentiment. I adhered the sentiment on the bottom half of the tree.
To make the little bow at the top of the tree stand out, I painted it with opaque white paint. Finally, I added white Nuvo Crystal Drops to the embossed ornaments, giving the tree a lovely dimensional finish.
Closing Thoughts
I absolutely love how these cards capture the nostalgic spirit of Christmas Blush. The combination of soft pink, crisp white, and dramatic black gives the Victorian-inspired images a fresh and whimsical feel, while the embossed Sparkling Trees add beautiful texture and dimension.
Sweet Snowman and Bundled Up Winter Bear are both impossibly cute, but I think the tree card may be my favourite of the three. Sometimes a simple colour palette and a beautiful embossing folder are all you need to create a card that feels both elegant and wonderfully nostalgic.
