Card 1 — “Best Wishes”
This cheerful card features the Tattered Stripes Stencil Set. The stripes were inked with Distress Oxide Inks, alternating between gradients of Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers for the blues, and Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the greens.
To create the fun notepaper effect, the Torn Paper Edges Die Set was used. The decorative stitching along the bottom was done with the Colorwheel Cardstock, Rainforest and Topaz Teal, included in the Tangled Threads Die Set. The “best wishes” sentiment is from the Vivid Script Sentiments Die Set, while the metallic accents were added using Classic Mouse Christmas Decorative Brads.
The notepaper panel was popped up with foam tape and adhered at an angle on an A2-sized black card base for a crisp contrast.
Card 2 — “Hugs Enclosed”
The second card uses the Distress Mix Embossing Folder, embossed on Bristol Smooth Cardstock to handle the added moisture from ink techniques. The background was created with a soft blend of Distress Oxide Inks Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxides, applied with a brush and water after smooching the inks onto the work surface.
The “hugs enclosed” sentiment and delicate thread accent were both die cut from black cardstock and black foam sheet for a dimensional finish, using the Vivid Script Sentiments Die Set and Tangled Threads Die Set.
Card 3 — “For You”
This card also features the Distress Mix Embossing Folder, this time inked with Distress Oxide Inks Tea Dye, Old Paper, and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxides for a serene vintage palette.
The same technique of water brushing the ink onto the embossed texture gives a dreamy, layered look. The sentiment “for you” and the expressive tangled thread were created using Vivid Script Sentiments Die Set and Tangled Threads Die Set, mounted on black foam for depth.
Both embossed panels were attached to black A2 card bases to frame the subtle color beautifully.
