Bring on the tropical vibes! The Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Island Style, creates a beautifully textured background filled with tiki-inspired details and island motifs. Paired with die-cut tropical blooms and a sweet tiki torch, this card has a warm, relaxed feel that is perfect for sending a little aloha any time of year. Soft coral tones and touches of leafy green keep the design light and cheerful.

Card Details

I began with a panel of white cardstock measuring 4¼” x 5½” and embossed it using the Island Style 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. To emphasize all of the wonderful details, I gently rubbed a Distress Oxide Ink Pad in Frayed Burlap over the raised areas, allowing the pattern to stand out beautifully. The finished panel was adhered to an A2-sized card base.

The decorative elements and sentiment are from the Large Die of the Month, Tropical Blooms, while the adorable tiki torch comes from the Stitching Die of the Month, Luau Beats. All of the pieces were die cut from Spellbinders Colorwheel Cardstock in Fern, Coral, Beeswax, and Acorn.

The large “Aloha” sentiment was also cut from foam and layered behind the cardstock die cut to create dimension. After adhering the sentiment to the center of the card, I arranged the tropical foliage and blossoms around it. The tiki torch and floral cluster were mounted with foam squares for added depth and interest.

Final Thoughts

I love how the embossed background does most of the work on this card while the layered die cuts add just the right amount of tropical charm. The warm neutral tones combined with coral and fresh greens create a soft island-inspired palette that feels both playful and elegant. This design would be perfect for a summer greeting, vacation-themed card, or simply to send a cheerful “Aloha” to someone special!
