Spellbinder Tulip Trio Dies from Simon Hurley’s Tulip Garden Collection

Hello friends! Spring will soon be upon us (if it isn't already in your corner of the world!) and what better way to celebrate than with Spellbinder's Tulip Trio Dies. This layering die set creates large, beautiful tulips that have been arranged on an embossed background using the Twirling Tulips 3D Embossing Folder. Both products are included in the Tulip Garden Collection by Simon Hurley.

  • An A2 sized panel was cut with a die from Mirrored Arch Labels. The label was embossed with Twirling Tulips 3D Embossing Folder.

  • White foam, about 4 1/2" by 5 3/4", was also cut with the same Mirrored Arch Label die. The larger size allows the windows to be easily aligned between the card stock panel and the foam. The excess foam was trimmed off angling the scissors towards the card to undercut it.

  • The foam-backed panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base and the embossed label inlaid in the window.

  • The Mirrored Arch Label die was used in conjunction with the next largest die. The two were held together with low tack tape and a matte gold frame was cut. The frame was adhered around the window.

  • The tulips from Tulip Trio Dies were cut from pink, yellow and lavender card stock. Before the flower layers were put together, a touch shading was added with Distress Oxide Inks Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and Shaded Lilac to the base of the petals with a blender brush.

  • The stems and leaves were cut from green card stock and highlights were added with white pigment ink,

  • The tulips were adhered to the stems and one leaf attached to each stem.

  • The flowers were adhered to the card front sweeping out from the left hand corner. The base of the stems were adhered with liquid adhesive and the leaves and flower heads were popped up with either one or two stacked foam squares. Two additional leaves were added once the arrangement was complete.

  • The sentiment from Everyday Sentiments was cut from both cream card stock and foam. The stacked sentiment was adhered across the leaves.

  • Clear crystals were used to add dew drops to the arrangement.
