Spellbinder’s Stitched For Christmas Collection featuring Stitched Christmas Tree

Updated: Dec 6, 2023

Hello, friends! The Stitched for Christmas Collection is a combination of cute and fun like The Stitched Christmas Sweater or absolutely gorgeous as evidenced here with Stitched Christmas Tree. I have two card examples; one stitched and the other just die cut. I have paired it with the Vintage Ornaments 3D Embossing Folder.

  • The backgrounds were embossed with Vintage Ornaments 3D Embossing Folder; one on soft teal card stock and the other on mirror silver.

  • The teal panel was lightly rubbed, catching the high points of the embossing with a white pigment ink pad. The other panel was LIGHTLY TAPPED with Versamark. The ink will apply easily so no pressure is required. It was coated with gold embossing powder and melted with the heat tool.

  • The panels were trimmed to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" and adhered to A2 sized, top folding card bases. I placed the panels under my Misti to dry to prevent the corners of the embossed panels from lifting.

  • For the stitched card, the die that produces the 'figure 8' frame was used in conjunction with the tree outline die to cut mirror gold card stock.

  • The die with the stitching references was centred in the tree outline die and held in place with low tack tape to cut teal card stock.

  • The stitching was done with DMC metallic mint green floss. So pretty!

  • The star and the tree stand were cut with the stitching in combination with the outline die in mirror gold card stock. These elements were stitched with metallic variegated floss.

  • The tree was was mounted on a white sheet foam die cut. A portion of the foam on the base of the tree was trimmed for the stitched tree stand. The star was adhered on top. The tree was adhered to the embosssed card front. I placed my Misti on top to get good contact between the two.

  • The sentiment from Christmas Florals and Sentiments Die Set was cut from gold and mounted on foam.

  • The tree was embellished with small gold pearls.

  • The die that produces the 'figure 8' frame was used in conjunction with the tree outline die to cut several pieces card stock; red, gold, copper and silver glitter.

  • Black sheet foam was cut with the outline die.

  • .The red 'figure 8' frame was adhered to the foam die cut and the specialty card stock was inlaid.

  • The outline dies for the tree stand and star were cut from red card stock. The star was adhered to the top of the tree and the tree on top of the stand.

  • The tree was adhered to the embosssed card front. I placed my Misti on top to get good contact between the two.

  • The sentiment from Christmas Florals and Sentiments Die Set was cut from red card stock and mounted on black foam.

  • The tree was embellished with a combination of matte silver and gold pearls.
