Happy day, everyone! Isn't Spellbinder's Whimsical Winter Critters from the Merry Mug and Circle Collection absolutely the cutest ever?! I have created these tags on shaped card bases so there is lots of room to express warm wishes for the holiday season. These winter critters were so much fun to make!
I started by creating the tag base with the largest die in Classic Scalloped Circles Small. The shaped card base was cut from white card stock. The card stock was folded in half and the die was positioned slightly over the crease. The die was run back and forth about three times so it would cut through both layers of card stock.
Coloured card stock was also cut with the same die and embossed with Evergreen 3D Embossing Folder. A white pigment ink pad was rubbed, not pressed, over the embossing catching the high points.
The embossed panel was adhered to the shaped card base aligning the scalloped edges.
I used the circle die from Festive Ornament Die Set as the base for piecing the critters.
The elements to create the various animals were die cut from coloured card stock. These cuties were easily assembled.
The circle die was also used to cut white sheet foam. The critters were mounted on the foam and then adhered to the tag.
The critters' eyes were highlighted with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew. Some sparkle was added to the bunny's nose with glitter drops.
A 1/4" inch hole was punched on the top of the tag and ribbon looped through it.
Aura or Teal Opalescent Sequins finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew embellish the tags.
