Spellbinder’s BetterPress Christmas Collection featuring Holly Tree

Updated: Oct 11, 2023

Hello everyone! I have a super quick and easy card featuring Spellbinder's Holly Tree Press Plate and Die Set from the BetterPress Christmas Collection. This would a good choice for mass producing! You have to love it when a card comes together with little effort and is so pretty!

  • A panel of Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panels was ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks. Starting in the centre, Scattered Straw was applied radiating out to the perimeter with Mowed Lawn. The edges of the panel were inked with Black Soot. The Mowed Lawn was lightly applied over top of it for a smooth blend.

  • The platen (clear plate) from the BetterPress Letterpress System has registration marks for two sizes of panels. The ink blended panel was aligned to the A2 guide marks.

  • The Holly Tree plate was centred within the A2 guidelines on the magnetic insert. This set includes three sentiments. The sentiment I chose was positioned in the circle opening on the plate. The plates were inked with BetterPress black ink.

  • The platen with its metal disc corners will sit on the magnetic, spring loaded legs on the chase. The platen with the panel taped to it will sit above the inked plates until it is pressed down to go through the die cutter. The BetterPress Letterpress System will replace the die cutter's platform and cutting plates.

  • The BetterPress Letterpress System is run through the die cutter just once. No need to run it back and forth.

  • The circle die included with the set was used to cut the sentiment from the centre of the tree and black sheet foam. The sentiment was stacked.

  • The panel was adhered to an A2 sized, top folding, black card base. The stacked sentiment was adhered in the die cut opening.

  • The holly tree was decorated with three different shades of green half pearls.
