Hello fellow card makers! Spellbinder’s Glimmering Flower Collection is stunning. I have an earlier post, Spellbinder’s Glimmering Buttercups & Peonies from the Glimmering Flowers Collection, featuring Glimmering Buttercups and Glimmering Peonies. The images were foiled and I couldn’t bear tossing the used foil with the perfect images …. so here are the leftovers reverse foiled!
The leftover foil from a previous project, Spellbinder’s Glimmering Buttercups & Peonies from the Glimmering Flowers Collection, was used to create both cards using a reverse foiling technique.
A Solid Rectangle Foiling Plate was placed on the Hot Foil System followed by the white card stock. The used Aura Glimmer Hot Foil was placed shiny side down on the card stock.
When feeding the platform through the die cutter, in addition to the two shims that accompany the machine, I added three sheets of copy paper folded in half to provide additional pressure for these large foiling surfaces
Colour was added to the images with Copic markers. For the buttercups Y19 and 13 were used and the peonies were coloured with R89 and RV04. The foliage was done with YG08. I just ran the marker nib lightly over the image and used the 0 Colourless Blender to remove any ink sitting on the foil.
The foiled panel was trimmed to 4” by 5 1/4” and adhered to either a yellow or mahogany matted, A2 sized card base.
The sentiments from Fresh Picked Sentiments were cut from the same card stock used for the matting and sheet foam. The sentiment was stacked and adhered to the card front.
