Reimagining Spellbinder’s August Small die of the Month for Christmas

Hello everyone! I am late out of the gate with Spellbinder's August Small Die of the Month, Breezy Swing Die Set, but thought this beauty would make a magical Christmas card. I incorporated the branch and blooms from Blooming Pomegranate Die Set, August's Large Die of the Month, for the finishing touch for this unique holiday card.

  • Using a blending tool, Distress Ink Black Soot was applied lightly around the perimeter of a navy blue panel measuring 4 1/4" by 5 1/2".

  • The branch and flowers from Blooming Pomegranate Die Set were cut from a deep green, red and gold foil card stock. The flowers were assembled.

  • The background panel, flower and branch were spattered with slightly watered down Dr. PH Martin's BleedProof White using a fan brush.

  • The panel was adhered to an A2 sized, black card base.

  • The elements from Breezy Swing Die Set were cut from Silver Foil and a specialty card stock with flecks of iridescent cellophane. The body parts and hair were cut from white cardstock. The legs, arms and head were coloured with a COPIC marker E00.

  • The girl on the swing was assembled and adhered to the card front with black foam squares.

  • The branch was adhered to the top of card with small foam squares and the overhang was trimmed flush to the card base.

  • The flowers were adhered to the branch and one on the girl's hat.

  • The card was finished off with a puffy sentiment sticker.
