NEW!!! Spellbinder’s BetterPress Plate of the Month for July

Updated: Aug 1, 2023

Hey friends! There's a new club in town! Have you checked out Spellbinder's BetterPress Letterpress System. If not, take a a peek at my post INTRODUCTION TO SPELLBINDER'S BETTERPRESS LETTERPRESS SYSTEM. This easy to use system produces a form of relief printing; the raised surface of letters or images is inked and then pressed into paper providing a 'stationary look'. It is gorgeous!

BetterPress Plate of the Month will feature a beautiful press plate set each month! A great way to build up your press plate collection! And this month? The gorgeous Poinsettia Frame!

The July "New Subscriber" registration window will be available July 6 - 27th while supplies last.

  • Working with Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panels and black BetterPress ink, Poinsettia Frame was letterpressed. For details, see the video tutorial.

  • The press plate set comes with the frame and sentiment. Just to change things up a bit, the letterpress sentiment was used on just one of the cards.

  • For the card above, the panel was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks mower Lawn and Scattered Straw before it was letterpressed.

  • The images were Copic coloured. The flowers were done up in R39, 37 and 30. For the berries, just R39 and 30 were used. The greenery was coloured with either YG67 or 61. For the purple berries, V25 was used and the cones were coloured with Y28.

  • The panel was spattered with Tarnished Brass Distress Stain and Dr. Martin's Bleedproof White. The panel was trimmed down slightly and adhered to an A2, black card base.

  • The sentiment from Outlined Christmas Sentiments was cut from both gold foil card stock and black sheet foam and stacked.

  • The card was embellished with gold foil pearls.

  • The second card was 'mostly' coloured with Karin Markers, water based, brush pens for a water colour look.

  • The berries and the centres of the poinsettias were painted with Gansai Tambi's Starry Colors.

  • The panel was spattered with Tarnished Brass and Hickory Smoke Distress Stain. The panel was trimmed to 4" by 5 1/4" and adhered to an A2, black card base.

  • All of the gold accents were topped off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
