Hello everyone! There seems to be a natural attraction between kiddos and dinosaurs. Children just love these prehistoric creatures! So what better way to greet a new baby than with a colourful and fun herd of Spellbinders' Dinosaurs.
THE CARD
This A2 sized, top folding card is made up of primarily of die cuts. Most of the card stock are primary and secondary colours for a bold, fun look.
The background was created with Spellbinders' Colorblock Landscape. Eight rays of orange and yellow card stock were cut and pieced together with scotch tape. Next the landscape was cut from black foam and held together with more tape. The individual layers were also cut violet, lavender, navy and purple cardstock and adhered to the foam. The sun was cut from yellow card stock.
The sides of the rays and the foam-backed landscape were trimmed so the width would be 4".
A black card stock panel was cut to 4 1/8" by 5 3/8" and the rays adhered to it leaving a thin black border. The sun was attached to the centre of the converging point of the rays and the foam-backed landscaped adhered ensuring the black border on the bottom was the same as the top of the card.
The panel was adhered to the card base.
Spellbinders' Dinosaurs were cut from violet, red and yellow card stock and mounted on foam die cuts.
The die cut sentiment baby from Simon Says Stamp's Baby Words was cut from violet card stock and mounted on a foam die cut. All the elements were adhered to the card.
The sentiment 'welcome baby' from Simon's Darling Baby stamp set was stamped on red card stock and die cut with their Sentiment Labels die set.
The card was finished off with some heart embellishment stickers and Nuvo Crystal Drops.
THE GIFT BAG
The gift bag was purchased. I chose a simple red and white stripe to coordinates with the red dinosaur on the card.
Multiple Dinosaurs were cut from the same colours of card stock used for these creatures on the card.
The dinosaurs were adhered to one side of the bag.
