This interactive birthday card features the Musical Notes Collection by Bibi Cameron for Spellbinders and brings a touch of surprise with a spiral pop-up inside. Supplies Used
Mulberry for the card base
White for note paper and spiral
Mulberry, Violet, and Rainforest for flowers
Gold Treasured Cardstock : for music notes and floral centres
Creating the Card Front
Base and Layers: Start with an A2 card base in Mulberry cardstock.
Notebook Edge Detail: Die cut the white panel using Torn Paper Edges dies to mimic the look of notebook paper.
Musical Notes & Stave Pop-Up: Die cut the stave in black cardstock and black foam. Stack it and arrange it across the card front on a curve. Cut several musical notes from gold metallic cardstock and scatter them along the stave.
Floral Accents: Using the Club Blooms dies, cut flowers and leaves in Mulberry, Violet, and Rainforest cardstock. Add gold centres for sparkle and adhere them around the stave for a whimsical touch.
Sentiment: Stamp “Niece – Happy Birthday” from the Family Musical Mix Greetings set directly onto the card front.
Creating the Interactive Inside
Spiral Pop-Up: Die cut a circle from white cardstock, then cut it again with the Spiral Pop-Up die.
Assembly: Adhere the outer circle of the spiral to the inside of the card base. Apply adhesive to the center of the spiral, close the card, and press firmly. When opened, the spiral will pop up beautifully!
Decorating the Spiral: Attach an assortment of gold metallic die-cut musical notes and symbols along the spiral for a floating effect.
Finishing Touches: Add a few extra gold notes at the base of the spiral to balance the design.
