Craft Along with Spellbinder’s Crafty Advent Calendar Day 17

Hello everyone! It is Day 17 with Spellbinder's Crafty Advent Calendar! Today's door revealed a nesting die set. Although these dies would be perfect for creating tags, I created a series of frames for a focal point on a unique Christmas card!

Be sure to check out the VIDEO TUTORIAL!

  • Pairs of consecutive dies were taped together to cut frames in rose, coral and soft pink. The 7th die was used on its own to cut gold card stock.

  • The largest pair of dies was also used to cut white sheet foam frame. The rose coloured frame was adhered it it.

  • A dark green panel measuring 4" by 5 1/4" was die cut with the largest nesting die. The die cut was retained.

  • The panel was then embossed with the Christmas tile embossing folder.

  • The embossed panel was adhered to gold card stock measuring 4 1/8" by 5 3/8". It was then mounted onto an A2 sized card base.

  • The dark green die cut was adhered in the opening in the embossed panel.

  • The foam backed frame was also adhered in the opening followed by the two smaller frames. The small gold die cut was adhered in the center.

  • A tag sentiment of gold from the Poinsettia Tree die set was adhered to the top of the frame.

  • The floral die set from Day 10 was used to cut the flower layers from the same card stock colours used for the frames. The leaves and berry branch were cut from dark green and the flower centres and berries from gold.

  • After the flowers were assembled, two arrangements were created; one on the top of the frame and the other on the bottom. A combination of liquid adhesive and foam squares were used.

  • Coral coloured half pearls were added to the flower centres and a few additional accents around the arrangements.
