Frightening Frank-N-Stitch with Spellbinders Stitching Die of the Month for August, 2026

The Spellbinders August Stitching Die of the Month, Frank-N-Stitch, is absolutely adorable and so much fun to create! The die set includes three stitched bandage dies along with coordinating plain layering dies, making it easy to mix and match texture and plain surfaces.

Card Details

I began by die cutting the plain bandages from White, Lilac, and Fog Colorwheel Cardstock. Three stitched bandages were also cut from white cardstock and stitched using a light purple embroidery floss that closely matched the Lilac cardstock.

To adhere the stitched layers to the plain bandages, I like to use Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. I apply a thin layer of adhesive to the back of the stitched piece, making sure to catch all of the loose threads, then allow the glue to dry until it becomes tacky. The stitched layer is then carefully aligned and pressed onto the plain die cut, resulting in a secure, clean bond that keeps all of the stitching neatly in place.

For the background, I die cut the Frank-N-Stitch base from Lilac and Fog Colorwheel Cardstock and softly blended the edges with coordinating purple ink to add depth. The stitched bandages were adhered across the card front, leaving openings for Frank’s eyes, teeth, and sentiment. His oversized eyes and crooked grin peek through the bandages, bringing this cute little mummy to life.

To finish the card, I added the “Trick or Treat” sentiment just below Frank’s eyes, splattered the background with Splatter White for a spooky effect, and scattered a few black enamel dots for extra detail.

This is such a fun stitching project, and the finished card is guaranteed to bring smiles rather than scares this Halloween!
