Sweet, Spooky, and Just a Little Snarky! The Spellbinders Clear Stamp & Die of the Month – Trick or Snark is packed with personality! Featuring two adorable little monsters holding festive Halloween balloons along with a collection of playful sentiments—some sweet and some delightfully snarky—this set is perfect for creating cards, tags, and treat toppers.
Instead of making cards, I decided to create a pair of Halloween gift tags to tie onto special treat bags. They come together quickly, but the embossed backgrounds, colourful Copic colouring, and dimensional die cuts make them feel extra special.

Card Details
I began by creating my tags from Spellbinders Colorwheel Cardstock. One tag was cut from Violet cardstock and the other from Teal Topaz using the Spellbinders3-in-1 Tag Punch. If you haven’t tried this handy tool, I highly recommend it! It creates three different tag widths—1½”, 2”, and 2½”—while allowing you to customize the tag length. I chose the 2½-inch width and trimmed each tag to 5 inches tall.
Matching white cardstock tags were also cut to the same size so they could be adhered to the back, providing a sturdy tag with a smooth surface for writing a personal message.
The coloured tags were lightly inked around the edges with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink before being embossed with the Spellbinders August 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. This folder includes two designs, and I chose the fun Jagged Stripe. To add a little Halloween magic, the backgrounds were finished with white splatter before being adhered to the white backing tags.
The image, and sentiments were stamped onto white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, making them perfect for Copic colouring. For the backgrounds behind the balloon bouquets, I blended the colours from darkest at the bottom to lightest at the top:
Purple Tag: BV25, BV13, BV11
Teal Tag: BG78, BG75, BG72
The monsters were coloured using a variety of cheerful combinations:
Green Monster: YG61, YG63
Grey Monster: W2, W5
Blue Monster: B02, B04
The balloons were coloured using:
Purple: BV11, BV13
Green: YG61, YG63
Grey: W2, W5
Yellow: Y13, Y17
Orange: YR07, YR09
The pumpkin was coloured with YR07 and YR09, while the bat was finished with W5 and W9.
After colouring, all of the images and sentiments were die cut with the coordinating dies. I also cut each piece from black foam sheet, stacking the stamped images on top to add plenty of dimension before adhering everything to the tags.
To finish the project, I tied each tag with a length of black tulle, giving them a spooky finishing touch that’s perfect for Halloween treat bags.

These whimsical tags were so much fun to make! The combination of adorable monsters, floating balloons, and cheeky sentiments makes this stamp set incredibly fun to create with. Whether you’re decorating treat bags, gifts, or adding a special touch to Halloween cards, these little characters are guaranteed to bring plenty of smiles. Sometimes the best Halloween projects are the ones that are equal parts cute, creepy, and just a little bit snarky!
