STAMPtember has arrived! Creating A Wreath featuring Simon Says Stamp’s Jubilee Sentiments

Happy STAMPtember everyone! Next to Christmas, STAMPtember is definitely my favourite time of the year. I not only love seeing Simon’s releases, but it’s exciting to see the collaborations between Simon and other companies. Today’s card features a beautiful sentiment stamp set called Jubilee Sentiments. The sentiments in this set cover a variety of occasions including birthdays, encouragement and gratitude. AND there is a bonus with this sentiment set! There are several silhouette images that can be used to create an entire card front … which is exactly what I did!

PS. I have decided to change the format for writing the directions to make cards on my blog. I am hoping this new format will be more ‘user friendly ‘.

  • Trim Neenah Classic Crest 110 pound card stock to card front size, 4” by 5 1/4”.

  • Trace an oval lightly on the panel in pencil. I used a die from an oval nesting die set.

  • The stamp set includes five silhouette images; three sizes of flowers, and two different leafy branches. Stamp the largest flower on masking paper and fussy cut it.

  • The stamping is done with Simon Says Stamp's Pawsitively Saturated Inks; Celery Pearfection and Watermelon.

  • I began by stamping four flowers in Watermelon on the pencilled oval. To make them look more natural, the images were staggered so they would be slightly offset from one another.

  • Using the mask created for the flower, one of the branches was stamped with Celery, the lightest green, four times with the stem end overlapping the masked flower. Continuing in the same manner, masking the flowers, the second branch was stamped in Pearfection overlapping the light green branches.

  • When the ink was dry, a soft eraser was used to remove the pencil lines.

  • The card front was mounted on an A2 sized card base that was matted in black card stock.

  • The sentiment was stamped on white card stock and die cut with a circle die. It was cut so that the sentiment would be positioned near the bottom to leave room to stamp some leaves in Celery. The sentiment was mounted on foam.

  • The card was embellished with confetti from Simon Says Stamp's Coral Dust and finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
