Hello friends! Spellbinders’ Wonderland Collection is amazing and I couldn’t resist sharing The Three Magi and this fun and crazy holiday scene featuring Yuletide Ride. The colour palettes were created with the Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack a great system for experimenting with and exploring colour!

The Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack  is an add-on for the DIY Color Deck System. It consists of 12 DIY Color Deck cards with holiday-inspired artwork, fun facts, and helpful colour theory information. Each card includes an image with five blank spaces for swatching custom color combinations. The other side of the cards features fun facts, creative prompts and bonus education about colour theory. I swatched Colorwheel Cardstock  but, of course, you can use any medium. A separate swatch was also created using Color Swatch Petal Stack, Color Swatch Petal and Color Swatch Names.

To create a faux, ink blended background, I began with Indigo Colorwheel Cardstock and blended white pigment ink at the horizon, extending it to create a halo around where the car with its piled high presents would be sitting. A snowy landscape was cut using Landscape Edges and the edge inked lightly with Distress Oxide Ink Faded Jeans. It was adhered to the bottom of the Indigo panel and then mounted to an A2 card base. The elements from Yuletide Ride were cut from colours based on one of the cards included in the Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack. The car and accessories were assembled and mounted onto the card front with foam. The scene was spattered with Splatter White using a fan brush. The banner sentiment from North Pole Sentiments was cut from Indigo cardstock and mounted on a plain white banner and adhered to the snowy landscape underneath the car. The amber and blue string lights were finished off with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.

A shaped card base was created using the largest die from Perfect Arches. This die was also used to cut both Lavender and Fawn Colorwheel Cardstock. The lavender panel was ink blended, starting at the top of the arch, with Black Soot, Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserves. The Fawn panel was cut with a die from the Landscape Edges set and lightly inked on the top edge with Walnut Stain. The foreground was adhered to the ink blended arch, and then mounted onto the shaped card base. Lavender, Violet, Mulberry, Lilac, Oceanside and Cosmic Sky were used to create the three Wisemen. They were adhered to the card with foam squares. The sentiment, included with the die set, was stamped onto the foreground. The card was finished up with the stars cut from Pearl and Glitter cardstock found in the Antique White Treasured Cardstock and Silver Nuvo Crystal Drops.
