The Spellbinders Summertime Collection by Lisa Horton is absolutely gorgeous filled with charming details and versatile die sets that work beautifully together. For this card, I combined several sets from the collection to create a warm summer-inspired floral design with lots of texture, dimension, and rich earthy tones.

SUPPLIES
Colorwheel Cardstock - Acorn, Truffle, Breeze, Beeswax, Rainforest
Card Details
A panel of Colorwheel Cardstock in Acorn measuring 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” was adhered to a black A2 sized card base. Using the fun scalloped die from the Open Lace Frame & Landscapes Die Set, I cut a panel from pale blue Breeze cardstock. This set also includes layering rectangle dies for the frame, so I used the larger rectangle to cut black sheet foam and popped the frame up on the card base for added dimension.
Working with the Ripped Edge Circles Die Set, I created the focal point for the card. The largest circle was cut from Truffle cardstock along with black sheet foam, then stacked together. The next two smallest consecutive dies were used to cut brushed gold cardstock and Acorn cardstock, which were layered onto the circle base.

The Garden Planter Die Set is such a beautiful addition to this collection. The base of the planter was cut from Truffle cardstock, while the wood planks and barrel ties were cut from Breeze cardstock. When attaching the backing piece to the planter opening, I intentionally left the bottom open so the flower stems could easily slide inside. Once assembled, Distress Oxide Ink in Walnut Stain was lightly applied around the edges to add depth and definition.
The stems were cut from Rainforest cardstock and finished with Beeswax flowers featuring Acorn centres. To complete the design, I added a simple “Smile” sentiment from the Woodland Tales Sentiments die set. The sentiment was die cut from Acorn cardstock and black sheet foam, stacked together for dimension, and adhered directly onto the planter.

Closing Thoughts
I love how this card combines rustic textures with soft summer florals. The layering dies and detailed elements in this collection make it easy to build dimensional scenes, and the warm earthy colour palette pairs beautifully with the soft blue accents. This would make a lovely encouragement card, friendship card, or just a sweet note to brighten someone’s day.
