Card Details
The background was created using the large stitching die to cut a panel from Colorwheel Cardstock Beeswax cardstock. This die provides both the pierced holes and etched guidelines, making the stitching process straightforward and relaxing. Soft yellow embroidery floss was used to stitch the sun rays, creating a clean and cohesive look.
Once the stitching was complete, the panel was adhered to a slightly larger Beeswax mat and then mounted onto an A2 card base.
The coordinating circle die from the set was originally intended to showcase a sun face, but since the sentiment was placed in the center, those details became distracting. Swapping it out for a plain circle die of the same size created a cleaner focal point. The circle was cut from yellow glitter cardstock and backed with white foam for dimension before being adhered to the centre of the panel. The sentiment, from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month set, was stamped on Beeswax cardstock, die cut, and stacked with foam for added depth.
To enhance the shine, yellow confetti were added to the ends of the stitched rays and around the sentiment. Each one was finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew, adding a glossy, polished touch.

Final Thoughts
This design is a great example of how a simple technique—like stitching—can create a striking result. By keeping the palette tight and adding just a bit of sparkle and dimension, the card feels both summery and playful. It’s an easy project to customize, and one you’ll likely come back to whenever you need a quick burst of HAPPY!
