Hello friends! Spellbinders’ Stitching Die of the Month, Stitched Study Nook, creates a cozy scene. All of the elements are so sweet with all of the accessories and furniture necessary, including a cute kitty, for a comfy reading corner. This set has been used in conjunction with the BetterPress and Stencil of the Month for a fun background.
The May "New Subscriber" registration window will be open May 6th to the 27th. Sign up in May and receive the current design.

The BetterPress and Stencil of the Month were used to create a fun background on Mint cardstock. The betterpress plate was used to hot foil the script letters in Gold Hot Foil using the Glimmer Hot Foil System.
The five piece stencil set includes one stencil that stands alone as a background. The stenciling was done on the top 2/3 of the panel with Distress Oxide Ink Peacock Feathers. The stencilled area was masked off and the same ink was applied to the bottom third of the panel. The panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base.
The Stitching Die of the Month creates a sweet reading nook scene. All of the elements were die cut from Colorwheel Cardstock; Mint, Alabaster, Waterfall and Seaside.

The Stitching Die of the Month includes two larger elements that are stitched; the hanging light and the armchair. These were stitched with a soft green embroidery thread. After stitching, I like to apply Tombow adhesive and let it dry to its tacky state. This holds all of the stitching in place and allows the elements to lie completely flat against the background when they are mounted.
The armchair was positioned first onto the panel and the hanging lamp and coffee table adhered with foam squares.
A touch of shading was added to the kitten using Faded Jeans and it was mounted onto the armchair with low profile foam squares.

The sentiment is included in the BetterPress of the Month. Like the background, it was foiled in gold on Mint cardstock. The sentiment was cut with the coordinating die and adhered at the bottom of the panel with small foam squares.
Gold seed beads added to the decorative edging of the hanging light.
