Spellbinders’ Stitching Die of the Month for August, 2025

Hello friends! Spellbinders’ sea themed clubs are so sweet and the Stitching Die of the Month, Hand Folded Stitch, is fabulous. I love Origami and this paper boat is adorable cut from patterned paper.

The dies to create the Origami boat were cut from patterned paper from the Hello It’s Me 6X6 Designer Paper Pad and stitched with white embroidery floss. Because the patterned paper is lighter weight, it was adhered to cardstock die cuts.
I like to use Tombow adhesive to adhere stitched elements. The adhesive was applied catching all the stitched areas and left to dry until it was in its tacky state. The stitching is secure and the die cuts lie flat.
The origami boat was assembled incorporating the accessory die cuts, mast and flags, cut from Colorwheel Cardstock Blush, Bellini and Tutu.
One of the dies from Perfect Touch Arches was cut from Colorwheel Cardstock Dahlia. The base of this die was also used to cut Blush, Bellini and Tutu cardstock to maintain the detailed edging. They were then cut with the wave die included in the Stitching Die of the Month.
The waves were adhered to the arch layering one on top of the other. The adhesive was placed at the bottom of the wave die cuts to allow the boat to be slipped in and adhered.
The arch was adhered to an A2 card base.
The sentiment included in the Stitching Die of the Month was cut from Dahlia cardstock and adhered to the wave in the foreground.
The card was embellished with die cut hearts and stars, Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White and tiny crystals.
