Hello Friends! Spellbinders’ Stencil of the Month, Rolling Tide, is fabulous! This four piece stencil set is very versatile. I have used it to create three very different ocean backgrounds but there are other ways these stencils can be combined. The only limitation is imagination! I have used the backgrounds in conjunction with the Small Die of the Month, Stitching Die of the Month and the Bonus Item included in the Deluxe Caboodle Kit.

The stenciling was done using blender brushes and either Distress Oxide or Fresh Dye Inks. The panels were cut to 4 1/4” by 5 1/2” and adhered to A2 card bases. Colorwheel Cardstock was used for the elements that were either popped up with foam squares or foam die cuts. The sentiments were cut using Fresh Picked Sentiments from Antique White or Aquamarine Treasured Cardstock and mounted on foam die cuts

In addition to the two newly released assorted packs of specialty cardstock that I used, there is also Ruby and Onyx Treasured Cardstock. The pack of 15 premium cardstock sheets includes three sheets each of glitter metallic, matte metallic. brushed metallic, mirror metallic and pearl metallic for each gorgeous colour tones. I love these collections of cardstock!

For this card, the stenciled waves were inked with Distress Oxides Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans. The silhouette of the sailboat, the Bonus Item included in the Deluxe Caboodle Kit, was cut from Indigo Cardstock. The seagull from the Small Die of the Month was detailed with Beeswax, Anchor and Blue Spruce Cardstock. Hello was cut from the Pearl Metallic Cardstock from the Antique White Treasured Cardstock. The ship’s wheel was decorated with teal sequins

I think this is my favourite background! Who doesn’t love bubblies especially inked with Fresh Dye Aqualicious, Teal Cave and Galactic Stream on Mint Cardstock. This sea gull is from the Stitching Die of the Month and has been detailed with with Beeswax, Anchor, Mint and Malibu. Smile was cut from the Matte Metallic Cardstock included in the Aquamarine Treasured Cardstock.

The rolling sea backdrop for this card was inked with Fresh Dye Inks Arctic Mountain, Winter Lake and Icy Water on Seaside Cardstock. The ships were created from the Bonus Item included in the Deluxe Caboodle Kit, and the details cut from Waterfall, Cascade and Celestial Cardstock. Thanks was cut from the Matte Metallic cardstock included in the Aquamarine Treasured Cardstock.
