Hi everyone! You are absolutely going to love Spellbinders' Clear Stamp & Die of the Month! This Autumn themed set is absolutely adorable. There are several small images that are perfect for creating a background. The set also includes a nice sized gnome to feature on your card with sentiments of course!
A number of the smaller images were stamped using black Versafine ink on a card front panel, 4“ x 5 1/4“, of Neenah Classic Crest 110 pound card stock. The Versafine ink does not dry immediately making it a good choice for clear embossing … the look of black embossing without those annoying specks!
The large gnome was stamped three times on white card stock and also clear embossed.
The images were Copic colored; soft shades for the background and more saturated colours for the three gnomes. I wasn’t completely satisfied with the background and felt that it was competing with the gnomes. So I watered down some white gouache and coated each of those small images to give them a softer look.
The card front panel was mounted on a card base of Timber card stock that had been matted in black.
The three gnomes and black sheet foam we’re die cut with the coordinating die. The gnomes were stacked on the foam and adhered to the card front. The little banner sentiment was strung across the centre gnome.
To finish up this card, every other stripe on the gnomes hats were coated with Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard. White Blizzard dries clear leaving a pretty, sparkly effect. Red, orange and yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops were used to fill in some of the white space of the background.
