These two cards are guaranteed to bring a smile! The Spellbinders October Small Die of the Month  , Frosty Tweet Friends, is just adorable, featuring a sweet snowman who can be assembled in two different ways. I love how a few simple details give each snowman its own personality, from the classic snowman bundled up in his winter gear to the happy fellow looking up at the snowflakes with his tongue out, ready to catch one!

I paired the die set with the October Stencil of the Month, Wrapped In Wonder, to create snowy, dimensional backgrounds that let these delightful characters take centre stage.

Card Details

I began by creating the backgrounds using the snowflake stencil from the Stencil of the Month. For one card, I used Indigo Colorwheel Cardstock, while the second background was created on Seaside cardstock.

Using a palette knife, I applied white opaque texture paste through the stencil to create a dimensional snowflake design. The combination of the raised snowflakes and scattered dots gives both backgrounds a wonderful wintry feel. A little tip when working with texture paste: be sure to wash your stencil and palette knife immediately after use to prevent the paste from drying on your tools.

I set the panels aside to dry completely before adhering them to A2-sized card bases.

Now for the fun part — assembling the snowmen! The Frosty Tweet Friends die set makes it easy to create two distinct characters. One snowman faces forward, dressed in his cosy hat, mittens and scarf, while the other looks up at the falling snow, tongue out and ready to catch a snowflake. The sweet little red birds add even more personality to these playful winter scenes.

Once assembled, I adhered the snowmen and their feathered friends to the backgrounds using foam squares to add dimension and bring the scenes to life.

To finish, I stamped the sentiments from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month onto white cardstock and cut them out using the coordinating dies. I also used the sentiment dies to cut black sheet foam, which I layered behind each sentiment for extra dimension and a neat, finished look.

Closing Thoughts

I had so much fun creating these two cards with the October Spellbinders clubs! The Frosty Tweet Friends die set is full of charm, and I love that the snowman can be styled in two different ways. Paired with the snowflake stencil and a little texture paste, it was easy to create snowy backgrounds.

Which snowman is your favourite? I think the tongue-out version, ready to catch a snowflake, is especially fun! These cheerful cards are a lovely way to add a little winter whimsy to your Christmas card collection.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING! HAPPY CRAFTING!
