Spellbinders Small Die of the Month for August, 2026, Boo Crew Lab
What a fun set this is! The Boo Crew Lab Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders is packed with adorable Halloween-themed pieces that make it so easy to create a playful little scene. I had so much fun bringing these cute characters and laboratory elements to life with a classic Halloween colour palette.

Card Details
I began by die-cutting all of the elements from Colorwheel Cardstock, choosing colours that I associate with Halloween: Violet, Lilac, Acorn, Tuscan, Rainforest and Orange. I also cut the two adorable ghosts from Vellum Paper, along with the covering for the contents of the lab flask. The vellum gives these elements a wonderfully ghostly, see-through appearance.
For the background, I trimmed a panel of Rainforest Colorwheel Cardstock to A2 size and blended Black Soot Distress Oxide around the edges to create a darker, spooky border.
To add another layer of Halloween fun, I used the ghost Press Plate from the Press & Foil of the Month and pressed it onto the panel with Better Press Black Ink. I love how the ghostly image adds interest to the background without competing with the dimensional die-cut scene.
The panel was finished with a sentiment from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month, stamped in black ink. Finally, I arranged all of the die-cut pieces on the card front, using foam squares to pop up many of the elements and give the little Boo Crew Lab plenty of dimension.

Closing Thoughts
This little laboratory scene was such a joy to create! The combination of the colourful die cuts, spooky background and adorable ghosts makes for a playful Halloween card with lots of personality. The Boo Crew Lab is one of those sets that makes you want to keep adding little details—and I think these spooky elements would be right at home in any Halloween crafting adventure!
