Hello Friends! GROWING BETTERPRESS PLATES & DIE SET FROM THE MODERN BOTANICALS COLLECTION BY DINA WAKLEY is gorgeous and unique. This set of six press plates, one die and one acetate registration template comes together to create a grouping of modern, flowerheads finished off with a flourish greenery. So elegant!

  • Working with BetterPress Porcelain A2 Panels and the BetterPress System, the registration template was taped to the magnetic platform.

  • The five modern flowerheads for each card were inked in three different colours; Distress Oxide Inks Shade Lilac, Dusty Concord and Faded Jeans for one card and Fresh Dye Inks Berrylicious, Mauve and Açai Berry for the other. The flowers were positioned on the registration template and letterpressed with the inks lightest to darkest for a total of three pressings per panel.

  • The leafy stem has a coordinating die that I would be using to pop this element up on the card front. I did, however, like the positioning on the registration template. To help recreate this design, the stem was pressed on the panels without ink to create an outlined impression. The stems were then inked, one time in Old Paper and the other in Pink Crystal, and pressed onto a separate panel of BetterPress Porcelain.

  • The panels were then cut with one of the dies from Stitched Scallop Card Front and Tag. They were adhered to gold glitter panels before being mounted on black, A2 sized card bases.

  • The stems and foam were cut with the coordinating die and stacked. The leaves were adhered aligning them to the impression on the panels.

  • Sentiments were cut from gold glitter card stock using the Classic Sentiments Die Set.

  • Gold glitter discs were used for the final embellishments.
