The Spellbinders Halloween Hugs Collection by Simon Hurley is simply too cute! These adorable character dies make creating Halloween projects so much fun, and I couldn’t resist turning three of them into festive treat bag tags. I created tags featuring Frank, Drac, and an exclusive Mr. Skeleton die set, giving each character his own fun colour palette and personality. To make assembly easier, I’ve included the Spellbinders die layouts for each character so you can see exactly how all those little pieces come together.

Tag Details

For the tag bases, I combined the Colour Block Accent Arches with the Perfect Touch Arches. I cut two of the Perfect Touch arches from black cardstock, sandwiching a Colour Block Accent Arch cut from Rainforest, Lilac, or Pomegranate cardstock between them. A hole punch creates the opening at the top, and each tag is finished with a little tuft of black tulle.

All three characters were assembled from a mix of Colorwheel Cardstock and glitter cardstock, with the individual pieces layered and adhered to create these wonderfully dimensional Halloween friends. I popped each character up with foam squares, which gives the tags even more personality and dimension.

Drac

Drac was die-cut from Lilac, Black, and Red Glitter cardstock, with a tiny touch of Pomegranate for his tongue. His little red glitter bow tie and cape details add just the right amount of sparkle to this fang-tastic character.

Mr. Skeleton

Mr. Skeleton was created using Pomegranate, Black, and White cardstock, with a touch of Red Glitter cardstock for his festive details. His top hat, bow tie, and cheeky wave make him the perfect little skeleton to greet a trick-or-treater!

Frank

Frank was my most colourful character, cut from Rainforest, Fern, Lilac, Violet, Orange, Fog, and Anchor cardstock. I love how these colours bring this classic Halloween character to life. His little treat bucket is the perfect finishing touch!

Closing Thoughts

These Halloween Hugs characters are an absolute delight to assemble, and they make wonderfully fun treat bag tags. I love that the same basic tag design can be completely transformed simply by changing the character and colour palette. Add a little black tulle, a few foam squares, and some glitter cardstock, and you have three adorable tags ready to dress up Halloween treats!

Frank, Drac, and Mr. Skeleton may be spooky, but there’s nothing scary about making these!
