Hello everyone! We have had an extremely warm summer in my neck of the woods and I am appreciating the cooling temperatures as Fall approaches. Spellbinders' Glimmer of the Month , Thankful For You, is absolutely gorgeous and I am ready for Autumn! I hope you enjoy this post as much as I loved making this card with all of its beautiful foiled colours.
There are a number of foil plates and dies that come with this set. The main glimmer plate, with the leaves, needs to be foiled twice. Autumn is a colourful season and I wanted to capture that so I foiled Timber card stock with Mini Rainbow Stripe Hot Foil. This set also comes with a flower and leaf glimmer plates. I foiled two of each of these as well.
The accompanying dies were used to cut all of the foiled images. The die used to cut the main leaf image was also used to cut two pieces of black foam. The leafy frame was mounted on the foam.
A panel of Portobello card stock was trimmed to card front size, 4“ x 5 1/4“, and embossed with Intertwined Lattice, the August Embossing Folder of the Month .
It was mounted on an A2 sized, top folding card base of Timber card stock.
The two leafy frames were adhered to the card front to form a diamond.
The glimmer foil sentiment included in the set was foiled in gold on the same card stock used for the background.
One of the dies in Essential Diamonds was used to cut both the sentiment and foam. The sentiment was stacked and adhered to the centre of the leafy frame.
The berry leaf branch die, included in the set, was used to cut Portobello card stock eight times. The branches were adhered in pairs to each other on the stem ends so they would fit the inside edge of the leafy diamond.
Each berry detail was accented with a bisque opalescent sequin.
