Hello friends! The Country Christmas Collection is rustic and charming. My cards feature Country Christmas Barn and Country Horse-Drawn Christmas. So sweet! I have two colour Christmas palettes; one traditional and the other, modern … both inspired by the Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack.

It was fun using the Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack to create a palette for these Country Christmas cards. As the name suggests, the Holiday Deck is an add-on for the DIY Color Deck System. Each card includes an image with five blank spaces for swatching custom color combinations. The other side of the cards feature fun facts, creative prompts and bonus education about colour theory. I swatched Colorwheel Cardstock but, of course, you can use any medium.

In addition to the colour deck system, I also decided to use the new Color Swatch Petal Stack. The base petal was first cut using Color Swatch Petal. Each colour of cardstock was cut with the Color Swatch Petal Stack and adhered to the base petal. The names of the cardstock were stamped using Color Swatch Names on both the holiday deck cards and petals.

Country Horse-Drawn Christmas is a 5”. by 7” card. The background was ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. The snow drift was created with one of the dies included in Landscape Edges and popped up with foam tape. The elements for the horse- drawn carriage was cut from Colorwheel Cardstock Chiffon , Blush, Coral, Cranberry, Anchor, black and white. The image overhanging the snowdrift was also stabilized with foam. The panel was splattered with Splatter White using a fan brush. The sentiment from Christmas Greetings was cut from Cranberry and black foam and stacked. Snowy, textured tracks were added with Nuvo Stone Drops Chalk White.

Country Christmas Barn is an A2 card. The background is Indigo cardstock with two snowdrifts cut with Landscape Edges. The barn and trees were cut from Cranberry, Saffron, Fawn, Fern, Windy and Breeze. The snow drift in the background, was at here directly to the card base with the barn positioned on top. The snowy landscape for the foreground was popped up with foam squares and the trees adhered directly to it along with some shadow die cuts. The panel was splattered with Splatter White using a fan brush. The sentiment from Christmas Greetings was cut from Saffron and black foam and stacked. Snowy, textured added to the shadows and evergreen trees with Nuvo Stone Drops Chalk White.
